New Additions to Skógarkolefni 2.2

Skógarkolefni has been updated to version 2.2 following the publication of guidance on survey methods for Skógarkolefni projects and revisions to Section 2.5, which deals with project monitoring. A revised Project Design Document (PDD) template has also been published to reflect changes introduced with Skógarkolefni 2.2. The principal change in version 2.2 is that the second project survey must now be carried out no later than ten years from the project start date, rather than fifteen years as previously required.

Skógarkolefni (Forest Carbon Code) has released version 2.1, effective from 11 May 2026. The latest revisions are minor. Changes have mainly been made to Chapters 2.2 and 3.3, providing clearer information on requirements and guidance.

Skógarkolefni, the standard for carbon projects in forestry, has been published in a new version, 2.1. The new version came into effect on 11 May 2026. The latest amendments are relatively minor and are intended to provide clearer information on requirements and guidance.

The Skógarkolefni set of requirements for forest carbon projects has now been made available in printable pdf form. However, the official version of the set remains the text issued on the Skógarkolefni website and all references should be made to the online text.

Skógarkolefni 2.0 released on a new website
